As we flip through real estate magazines and browse through gorgeously decorated homes, we sometimes wish we could have that beauty transferred right to our own home. Well, a few lucky residents got this very wish when they asked for a renovation on their apartment.
Today on homify, we are showing you an apartment that has been changed from old and outdated 60s style to a style that matches the era, and its owners. The restoration and renovation experts at Novodeco are responsible for this home's new face. So let's go and check it out!
Let's go back a few decades again. This area was most likely the living or dining room, but it's a bit hard to tell why anyone would consider this space the place to sit back, relax, and hang out with friends and family. The room is dark, dusty, old-fashioned, and untidy. And let's not even talk about the hideous speckled flooring…
We are really impressed with this transformation. The dining room shines in bright colours that have been harmoniously coordinated with the kitchen area. The floors have been replaced and are now a stunning raw timber. Modern accents like the mirror and a few accessories bring this home back to the 21st century.
Let's start our segment with the worst room in the home: it's hard to believe, but there's actually an old kitchen hidden away under all that mess. The completely tiled walls in a less-than-attractive orange-brown are from a dark time in architectural history.
It's really hard to believe that this is the same room, but this just goes to show you what these experts can accomplish. The walls of the room now shine in fresh, bright white, while the kitchen with its red workbench sets a great accent. It is striking that even the windows were moved. The window on the right was removed (possibly due to the need for more privacy), and a window was installed in the kitchen corner.
When we turn back, we see the living room portion of the home. We see the repetition of red here in the leather sofa set. The chaise lounge is positioned neatly at the large windows for the perfect view while sipping your morning coffee.
The bedroom it is hardly better than the other rooms we've seen. The speckled tiles make their way here, too, and the thought of putting your bare feet on that cold tile in the morning is just unpleasant. Dark and heavy furniture makes the room even more depressing.
Looking at this new room, we can definitely see that these residents can get a good night's sleep. Our experts deviated slightly in the colour palette here with the use of white and grey striped wallpaper. Soft elements like the bedding and cushioned head board give this room a nurturing vibe, but modern accessories like the bedside tables and funky closet storage make it hip and with the times.
