Fifth Avenue Apartment andretchelistcheffarchitects 現代風玄關、走廊與階梯

Located in the Metropolitan Museum Historic Landmark District on the Upper East Side, this 3,820 square foot apartment is in a distinguished building designed by the Fredrick F. French Company and built in 1925 on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 82nd Street. The project combined two adjoining apartments, with one in estate condition on a corner facing the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The older of the two apartments was completely torn out, and a portion of the newer one having its entry, kitchen and dining room removed to accommodate a more gracious composition with the joined apartments. The new wing contains a master suite, dining room, living room, powder room, and entry foyer. A separate “family corridor” was added to connect the children’s rooms with the master suite. A complete new central forced-air heating and cooling system was integrated with the new interior layout. Custom decorative plaster crowns, casing, trim and millwork was installed along with new landmark-approved windows. A large opening was created from the living room to the entry foyer, with a pair of doors that sit within the wall to the kitchen, allowing the light and view from the West to be seen from the kitchen, located on the courtyard side of the apartment. The resulting layout allows for elegant entertaining while having sufficient private area for the family.
